We practice passive imposition and during that it's easier for them to not become inactive while not being paid attention to, and it's less of a conscious act on my part and more automatic.

I know we usually don't want to resist switching. When our tulpa wants to talk, we usually just let them switch. But they also usually let us switch back when we want to talk.

Tulpas don't need to switch to talk. That would imply they take over the entire body and mind, think something, and then switch back so someone else could remember what they said?

It's a requirement for tulpas to be able to speak two-way with their host to be considered tulpas.

Well, I mean talking to other people, not the host. Or rather doing some activity that requires switching (or is just more convenient using switching)

Oh, normally people do proxying, ie the host types what the tulpa wants to say. Many others do possession, so the tulpa can type themselves.

We don't do possession and my tulpas are never active while I'm just typing about stuff, so it doesn't really come up. Only time I say what they said is like, when someone asks me to I guess?

Oh, but Discord doesn't keep the username or profile picture of who said what upon refreshing the chat, so if people looked back at old messages they missed and we were doing that, they'd read everything from the wrong person.

I don't think there's any canon on Suwako's hat. It's just a hat with eyes that does things that a hat with eyes would, ie look at things and blink.

I'm sure a few users have some decent modern guides, though from an older perspective Irish and faq_man's guide are okayish. Faq_man's guide is a bit of a boogyman with hour counts, so don't use that and ensure that you utilize guides as guidelines and not specific things that you have to follow word for word.

I'm kinda interested in all this, but I'm hesitant to really get started. Making life more or less, and a pernament roommate in my head isn't something that seems that I should do without massive forethought and all.

From what little I read, it seems to be a fairly long process. Would it be a wise move to start 'forming' it slowly, and then just see where things go? around at what point would it be too late to go back without massive ethical complications?

If they become sentient then yes, treat them as a person. But in that case they'd cease to be a servitor anyway

Having a non-self aware process to engage in an activity you are already capable of seems pretty feasible to me.

When you present a solid reasoning behind thinking servitors are improbable while tulpas are probable, we'll offer you a response. For now, let's assume that perhaps your brain functions on more levels than just what you're aware, because it does.
